How Much Did My Van Build Cost?
The cost of a van build will range from £3,000 to £15,000 depending on; your layout, the products you chose to install and how you want your van to look.
By far the most expensive element of my build was the electrics. Because I will be living in my van all year round, I wanted to make sure I had access to electricity in the winter months without the need to hook up. My electric system cost almost 25% of my total van build (£1,800).
The second most expensive cost was the timber. I wanted my build to look and feel like a house on wheels rather than a traditional campervan. Therefor the timber I chose for my walls and kitchen were not cheap. My kitchen worktop for example is a solid butchers block.
Overall, my van build was in the mid-range costing me £7,691 in total. See the below table for the breakdown of costs.
My van is a Mercedes Sprinter L2 H2, 2016 year with 80,000 miles on the clock, it cost me £14,000.
Van + Van Build Costs £21,691
How much time does a van build take?
The answer to this question depends on your build design and your build experience. One statement I can be certain about is that every part of the build will take longer than you think it will. See the table below for the breakdown of hours spent on the build, bear in mind I had no experience!

I hope that helps! Any questions please do not hesitate to ask, much love Emma & Jamie xx
